My wife's uncle had a great trip to Costa Rica. Here is a brief description and a cool video with some serious aerials. Dam I need to go fishing
Just had an amazing vacation in Costa Rica with my Wife Pam, we spent four days in Puerto Quepos and decided to offshore fish for the day. Grabbed a last minute charter with Captain Roger and his mate Jonathan on the "Release", a 31 foot Bertram out of Pez Vella Marina in the center of town. We shoved off at 7:15 a.m. and dropped the lines by 8:15 (we sailed 24 miles out). The ocean was flat as the bay, and according to the captain, its like that from January through April! We trolled naked and skirted ballyhoo with five lines in the set. We got our first sailfish hook up at 8:28 a.m. and I landed my first ever Pacifica sail! My wife had never fished offshore before and was able to land three sails and a Mahi herself! By the end of the trip, we had boated 14 sails, all in the 100 to 125 LB range, two mahi-mahi in the 35 Lb range and lost three sails and a striped Marlin.Captain Roger and his mate were AWESOME to say the least. What a great day on the water, can't wait to go back again.
